<br />, ' <br /> <br />Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting - February 22, 2000 <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />Tom Guarino and Mike Betts, on Behalf of the San Leandro Chamber of <br />Commerce and the Industrial Roundtable, addressed the City <br />Council/Redevelopment Agency in support of the proposed project. <br /> <br />Rick Richards, 335 Peralta Avenue, on Behalf of the Friends of the San <br />Leandro Creek, addressed the City Council/Redevelopment Agency in support of <br />the project. <br /> <br />Ann Hague, addressed the City CouncillRedevelopment Agency in support of the <br />project and commented on her participation in the project review. <br /> <br />There being no further comments from the public, the Public Hearing was closed. <br /> <br />M/S/C Loeffler and Galvan. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Galvan complimented David Irmer on his work with the community <br />and his determination to bring the project forward to the City. <br /> <br />Council Member Grant commented on the project and questions were asked and <br />responded to regarding traffic circulation. She also clarified that the lldriver" of <br />the project is the approval of the Disposition and Development Agreement. <br /> <br />Council Member Nardine complimented the developer on the project and the City <br />Council/Redevelopment Agency for their tenacity and vision. She also <br />complimented staff for taking the City Council's!Redevelopment Agency's vision <br />forward on this project. <br /> <br />Council Member Glaze asked questions regarding the design features and Phase n <br />(parking structure) parking flow. He also complimented the City <br />Counci1/Redevelopment Agency for their tenacity in seeing the project and holding <br />firm to the visions of this City Council and the City Councils of the past. <br /> <br />Kevin James, Architect, addressed the questions regarding the design features; <br />and Hanson Horn, at the Mayor's' request, gave an overview of how the project <br />will move forward from that point and how the Disposition and Development <br />Agreement addresses the further review of the project if substantial changes are <br />made. It was noted that staff will closely review the plans to be sure major <br />changes do not occur without approval by staff or the RDA. <br /> <br />Council Member Glaze emphasized how he preferred the earlier design style to the <br />latest version. <br /> <br />Council Member Lothrop asked questions about the design and the "stepped back" <br />design in the earlier version being eliminated. <br />
