<br />Minutes <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Meeting - June 19, 2000 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />He concluded by stating there needs to be a Public Advocacy Office created to <br />provide a place for the people to come to City Hall and get their questions <br />answered. <br /> <br />C. Tom Guarino, San Leandro Chamber of Commerce, addressed the <br />Redevelopment Agency in support of its proposed action regarding Marina <br />Boulevard. He commented that the Chamber feels this will create a jobs/housing <br />balance and additional sales tax for the City. <br /> <br />4. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />Consent Calendar items are typically routine in nature and are considered for approval <br />by the Redevelopment Agency with one single action. The Redevelopment Agency <br />may remove items from the Consent Calendar for purposes of discussion. Items listed <br />on the Consent Calendar are deemed to have been read by title. <br /> <br />A. Minutes of the Meeting of May 1,2000. Approved as submitted. <br /> <br />5. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />A. Matter of Property Owners Hearing Regarding Eminent Domain Proceedings for <br />Acquisition of Marina Boulevard Properties for Marina Square Auto Center, Phase <br />3; Property Owners: Martinelli, 635 Marina Boulevard; Tosco, 846 Marina <br />Boulevard; Christopher, 872 and 936 Marina (begins condemnation proceedings <br />for four [4] properties and Approves a Memorandum of Understanding [MOD] <br />with the Batarse Family Trust to construct auto-dealer-related facilities on the <br />acquired properties). <br /> <br />Property Owners' Hearing (Only the Property Owners Are Allowed to <br />Speak) <br /> <br />Letter from R. L. "Dick" Mathews, Real Estate Manager, Tosco Marketing <br />Company, will appear and speak. <br /> <br />Letter from Robert C. Nicholas, Attorney for Frosa Christopher, will <br />appear and speak on Ms. Christopher's behalf <br /> <br />The City Attorney read into the record a letter from Mr. Dick Mathews <br />regarding the sale of the property at 846 Marina Boulevard (Tosco) to the Ben <br />A. Begier Company, effective today. <br /> <br />Debbie Potter, Redevelopment Administrator, gave the staff report regarding <br />the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Batarse Family Trust to <br />construct auto dealer-related facilities and the Resolutions determining that the <br />
