(1156/1424) <br /> <br />The City Council appointed Council Member Nardine as the "Trustee" <br />on the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District Board of Trustees <br />to fill the two-year term of office, January 2, 2000 through January 1, <br />2002. . <br /> <br />M/S/C Glaze and Loeffler. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Lothrop <br /> <br />Minute Order No. 2000-47, Matter of Appointment of Trustee to the <br />Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District Board of Trustees (two-year <br />term of office - January 2,2000 to January 1, 2002). (1156/1424) <br /> <br />The City Council retroactively approved Mayor Young's attendance at <br />the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District Board of Trustees <br />Meeting during the month of August 2000, due to the vacancy created by <br />the resignation of Fredrick C. Gamble as Trustee. <br /> <br />M/S/C Glaze and Loeffler. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Lothrop <br /> <br />9. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />A. Vice Mayor Bob Glaze requested we adjourn in memory of Kyle Torres, a two- <br />year old killed in a recent auto accident. <br /> <br />B. Council Member Loeffler commented on the City Council's insight in utilizing the <br />General Plan Advisory Committee (GP AC) as a reviewing body for the proposed <br />Alternate Budget. <br /> <br />Council Member Loeffler questioned what Millennium events are being planned <br />and suggested the City Council Ad Hoc Millennium Committee look into ways to <br />display historical photographs at the Library, City Hall, Fire Stations, etc. He <br />indicated the public needs to be reminded about what we have achieved in this <br />community. <br />
