He noted that an amendment to an existing contract which affects the <br />financial conditions of one of the lessees would trigger the prevailing wage provisions. <br /> <br />Mayor Santos commented on the possible effects of the living wage ordinance on <br />American Golf. <br /> <br />Councilmember Starosciak commented on the compliance of the community-based <br />organizations with the proposed living wage ordinance, and she thanked Purchasing <br />Agent Don Brockman for his research on the impact of the living wage ordinance on the <br />CBOs and for providing the information to the Committee. Councilmember Starosciak <br />noted that Councilmember Gregory's points will be important to consider as the <br />Council moves forward in planning for the future of the Marina. She expressed concern <br />regarding Waivers (a), (c) and (d) listed in Section 8 ofthe ordinance as they seem to <br />create loopholes. Councilmember Starosciak commented that while it is important to <br />establish a high quality of life in San Leandro, the Council's most important <br />responsibility is its fiduciary and legal responsibility. <br /> <br />Councilmember ProIa commented that he feels it is important to meet with the CLC and <br />EBASE and respond to the points raised in their memo. <br /> <br />. Minute Order No. 2007.066, Motion Directing Staff to Revise the Draft Living <br />Wage Ordinance, Incorporating the Comments from the Council; Considering the <br />Points Listed in the June 4, 2007 Memo from the Central Labor Council and <br />EBASE; Meeting with the Groups that Have Asked to Be Included in the <br />Discussion, Including the Chamber of Commerce and the Central Labor <br />Council; and Bring the Revised Ordinance Back to the City Council Finance <br />Committee. (3120) <br /> <br />The City Council directed staff to revise the draft Living Wage Ordinance, <br />addressing the comments from the Council; considering the points listed in <br />the June 4, 2007 memo from the Central Labor Council and EBASE; <br />meeting with the groups that have asked to be included in the discussion, <br />including the Chamber of Commerce and the Central Labor Council; and <br />bring the revised ordinance back to the City Council Finance Committee. <br /> <br />M/S/C Grant and Proia. Matter of Summary and Recommendations from the Fire Services Ad Hoc Committee <br />[reports recommendations relating to contract with Alameda County Fire Department <br />(AlCo Fire) for City Council consideration]. <br /> <br />Councilmember Starosciak thanked City Manager Jermanis and his staff for their work <br />in reviewing the City's fire services agreement and Fire Chief Sheldon Gilbert for his <br />patient responses to her many questions. She commented that there are both tangible <br />and intangible results from the conversations held over the past several months, and the <br />Ad Hoc Committee has forwarded several recommendations for the Council's approval. <br />
