Minute Order No. 2007-067, Motion Accepting Recommendations from the Fire <br />Services Ad Hoc Committee, as Follows: (2678) <br /> <br />I. The City will continue to contract with AICo Fire for services. <br /> <br />2. The City Council Finance Committee will monitor AlCo Fire's financial <br />status, invoices and response time on a quarterly basis. <br /> <br />3. Fire Department budget issues will be brought to the City Council Finance <br />Committee in a timely manner. <br /> <br />4. The City Council Finance Committee will reVIew the AlCo Fire's <br />independent audit on an annual basis. <br /> <br />5. A detailed survey of comparable Bay Area cities is completed every three <br />years to ensure AlCo Fire's costs remain reasonable and services remain <br />comparable to other jurisdictions. <br /> <br />The City Council accepted recommendations from the Fire Services Ad Hoc <br />Committee. <br /> <br />MfS/C Starosciak and Stephens. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the City Council to dissolve the Fire Services Ad Hoc <br />Committee. <br /> <br />D. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken <br /> <br />City Attorney Williams reported that the City Council met in closed session earlier this <br />evening to discuss several pending litigation matters. In the case of Jose Perez vs. the <br />City of San Leandro, filed in U.S. District Court, the City Council unanimously <br />authorized the City Attorney to enter into a structured settlement with the plaintiff in the <br />amount of$395,000. <br /> <br />11. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br /> <br />Councilmember Starosciak reported on her attendance at a recent meeting of the <br />Congestion Management Agency. CMA Board members met Carl Guardino, the <br />newest California Transportation Commissioner who is also the Executive Director of <br />the Silicon Valley Leadership Group. Councilmember Starosciak commented that <br />Commissioner Guardino understands CMA's issues very well, and is a big supporter of <br />transit-oriented development. <br />
