Finance Committee Meeting of June 19,2007. Accepted as submitted. <br /> <br />Recommendation for City Council Consideration: <br /> <br />a. Schedule consideration of an increase in purchasing bid thresholds and the <br />consolidation of different purchasing policies into a single policy document. <br /> <br />By consensus, the City Council approved this recommendation. <br /> <br />4. Marina Committee Meeting of June 12,2007. Accepted as submitted. <br /> <br />Recommendation for City Council Consideration: <br /> <br />a. Schedule a second Town Hall Meeting on July 19, 2007 and a City Council <br />Work Session on July 30,2007 relating to the San Leandro Marina. <br /> <br />By consensus, the City Council approved this recommendation. <br /> <br />b. Schedule approval of a five-year extension of the Spinnaker Yacht Club <br />lease until December 31, 2015. <br /> <br />By consensus, the City Council approved this recommendation. <br /> <br />12. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Gregory requested that Mayor Santos issue a proclamation for James <br />Sorensen, a Bancroft Middle School P.E. teacher who recently broke the world masters record <br />for 1,500 meters and set the American masters record for the 800 meters. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Grant commented on the information about the Focus Project from ABAG and <br />about the identification of areas for conservation priorities. She asked whether the <br />Marina/Shoreline area should be included for consideration. Councilmember Gregory asked <br />if it could be done in conjunction with East Bay Regional Parks. <br /> <br />Councilmember Souza challenged the City Council to recreate and park during Recreation <br />and Parks Month. She invited the Council to join her and Councilmember Gregory for the <br />cross-town rivalry swim meet on July 14 at the San Leandro High School pool, where over <br />200 swimmers will compete. Councilmember Souza announced that she will be an honorary <br />starter at Eden Hospital's Run to the Lake on July 8. She commented on the wonderful time <br />she had at bocce ball with Councilmembers Starosciak and Gregory. <br /> <br />Councilmember Starosciak commented that the bocce ball tournament was a fundraiser for <br />the League of California Cities and was a wonderful and successful event. Councilmember <br />Starosciak reported that she and Mayor Santos met with members of ACTIA on the 1-238 <br />widening project, and she related some of the elements of the project.
