<br />FY2006-2007 CAPER <br /> <br />-7- <br /> <br />September 17, 2007 <br /> <br />. With money from its General Fund, the City provided funding to 21 non-profit social <br />service agencies that offer services such as childcare, adult literacy, health and <br />counseling, and catering to the needs of several target groups such as the homeless, <br />adults, youth, persons with disabilities, and children and women in crises. Four CDBG- <br />funded agencies (DSFRC, ECHO Housing, BFWC, and Project Literacy) also received <br />General Fund monies in FY2006-07, reflecting the City's leveraging efforts for CDBG. <br /> <br />Priority # 10. Support public facilities and other community improvements. <br /> <br />. Playground improvements to Bonaire Park were completed, and the park re-opened to the <br />public in July 2005. However, the drainage system installed as part of the renovation project <br />proved to be inadequate during substantial rains. Therefore, this drainage system was <br />modified to rectify this problem and was completed by November 2006. <br /> <br />. With regard to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements, 12 new curb ramps <br />were constructed this fiscal year. The City's annual goal was exceeded by 150%. <br /> <br />. Escrow closed on July 3, 2006 for the proposed Senior Center project's land acquisition. <br />Architectural design work, which began in FY2005-06, continued in FY2006-07 and is <br />expected to be completed in early 2008. <br /> <br />Current City Council Policy <br />Current Council Policy is defined by the FY2005-2009 Consolidated Plan adopted by Resolution <br />No. 2005-046 on April 18,2005. <br /> <br />Previous City Council Action <br />The Action Plan containing the programs and activities carried out during FY2006-2007 was <br />approved by the City Council on May 1, 2006. <br /> <br />City Council Committee Review and Action <br />N/A <br /> <br />Applicable General Plan Policy <br />The Housing Element of the General Plan addresses increasing the supply of affordable ownership and <br />rental housing in San Leandro in Goal 53-Affordable Housing Development of the Housing Element of <br />the General Plan. Additionally, Goals 47 to 51 of the General Plan address the provision of community <br />services and facilities in coordination with non-profit and other social service providers.
