BACKGROUND At the November 8, 2007 Joint worksession, the Planning Commission and the Board of Zoning Adjustments commented and asked questions about the proposed zoning code amendments. After hearing staff's presentation, the Commission and Board held a discussion and made recommendations, particularly as they related to the proposed ordinance language for Fences, Walls and Hedges in the RS-VP District. Members of the public were also in attendance and commented on the proposed zoning code changes. PROPOSAL A summary of the affected portions of the Zoning Code are outlined below. The following code sections are proposed to be changed: Fences, Walls and Hedges in the RS-VP District Article 5, Section 4-1682 Limited On-Line Used Vehicle Sales Article 6, Section 2-606, CC District Article 6, Section 2-612, CS District Article 7, Section 2-704, IL District Article 7, Section 2-706, IG District Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Strategy Follow-Up Items Article 2, Section 1-204, Base Zoning Districts Article 6, Section 2-636, Use Regulations Article 16, Section 4-1662, Outdoor Facilities and Storage /Loading Facilities Article 16, Section 4-1666, Refuse Storage Areas Article 16, Section 4-1672, Earth Station and Microwave Equipment Article 16, Section 4-1674, Bed and Breakfast Inns Article 18, Section 4-1806, Regulations for On-Premise Signs DISCUSSION The proposed draft ordinances relating to Fences, Walls and Hedges in the RS-VP District; Limited On-Line Used Vehicle Sales and clean-up items associated with the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Strategy maybe summarized as follows: Fences, Walls & Hedges in the RS-VP District Section 4-1682 of the Zoning Code relating to Fences, Walls and Hedges is proposed for amendment to provide additional restrictions on fence heights and to preserve views in the RS-VP Planning Commission Staff Report December 13, 2007 Zoning Code Amendments Page 2 of 6
