MINUTES Page 10 <br />City of San Leandro City Council, San Leandro Economic Development Agency, and San Leandro Redevelopment <br />Agency Joint Meeting-Apri121, 2008 <br />Ms. Battenberg reported that Business Development staff have approached local <br />restaurants, requesting that they consider offering a special takeout menu and <br />encouraging them to stay open until 8 p.m. or later on farmers' market day. <br />M/S/C Gregory and Prola. Discussion and Adoption of the 2008-09 Goals and Vision Statement (adopts goals and <br />priorities developed at the Council Retreat in February 2008). <br />Mr. Jermanis presented a draft of the Council's goals and Vision Statement that were <br />developed at the Council Retreat in February, and suggested that they be approved by <br />the Council so that they could be incorporated into the budget for the upcoming year. <br />Councilmember Souza thanked Assistant to the City Manager Jacqui Diaz for her <br />coordination of the process. She asked what it meant for an item to be listed as a prior <br />year's goal. Mr. Jermanis noted that the work on those particular items is being <br />continued, and they are still a priority. Councilmember Souza asked whether the goals <br />were in any particular order. Ms. Diaz indicated that the items are generally in priority <br />order, based on the priorities established in the previous year and on the Council's input <br />at the retreat. <br />• Minute Order No. 2008-013, Motion Adopting the City Council Goals for 2008- <br />09 and the City Counci12008-09 Vision Statement. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br />Mayor Santos commented that he likes the Vision Statement that the Council <br />developed, and hoped that it would be incorporated into the budget document. <br />Councilmember Starosciak agreed with Mayor Santos, and stated that she would also <br />like to see the Vision Statement printed on the Council's business cards. <br />C. Report on Closed Session Actions Taken <br />None. <br />11. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br />Vice Mayor Grant reported that she attended a meeting of the Alameda County Housing <br />Authority. <br />
