The group was formed in January 2008, is a subprogram of the Healthy San Leandro Collaborative, and is open to all San Leandro residents. Ms. Fernandez stated that Quality of Life Services holds free monthly seminars on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Trustees Room at the Main Library, and is currently focusing on the issues of crime and crime prevention. Based on community input at its January meeting, the group identified the top issues concerning residents, and discussed possible solutions, including broadening participation in the Neighborhood Watch program. Ms. Fernandez described the previous seminars held by the group, and stated that the topic of the June seminar will be identity theft. Proclamation Declaring May 2008 as "Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month" in San Leandro. Benny Lee, member of the Asian Community Cultural Association (ACCA), accepted the "Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month" proclamation presented by Mayor Santos. Mayor Santos acknowledged the members of the ACCA who were present in the audience. 3. PUBLIC HEARINGS-CITY COUNCIL Public Hearing Comments are limited to 5 minutes per speaker, subject to adjustment by the Mayor. When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it to the City Clerk so the order of speakers maybe determined and an official record of names and addresses obtained.
