EXHIBIT A <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />Description <br />This Consulting Services Agreement is for the engineering design and construction support services for the <br />intersection improvement project at Washington Avenue and Estabrook Street intersection in San Leandro, <br />California. <br />The project consists of design and construction of new signal equipment at the subject intersection and <br />signal interconnection of the same intersection to Marina Boulevard at Washington Avenue. The project <br />also consists of signal and intersection reconfiguration, removal of the "pork-chop" island at the southeast <br />corner, curb modification at southeast corner, and update of accessible ramps, <br />The design and construction support services covered under this contract compromise of all items <br />necessary to bid and construct the proposed project including but not limited to the following tasks: <br />Task 1 Project Management and Administration <br />The KOA Team will meet with the City's staff to establish the design parameters for this project. Under the <br />project management task, KOA will be responsible for maintaining contact v/ith the City's Project Manager <br />and keep him /her informed of the developments on the project. The following specific subtasks will be <br />performed: <br />1) Management of project team including sub-consultants <br />2) Participating in kick-off meeting <br />3) Submit monthly progress reports and invoices including updating Schedules <br />4) Quality control of submittals <br />5) Communicate with utility companies to keep them informed of the project. Coordination with PG&E <br />in regard to their overhead pole relocation. <br />Task 2 Data CollectionlReviewand Analysis <br />KOA will conduct a comprehensive review of existing studies and documents that is pertinent to the <br />proposed project. The following specific subtasks will be performed: <br />1) Conduct life visit and evaluate existing conditions <br />2) Obtain existing information, including right-of way, parcel maps, utilities, existing as build <br />improvement plans, Traffic, etc. <br />3) Perform topographical survey fo locate roadway right-of way, sidewalk width, trees /planting strips, <br />underground utilities, power poles and any other encroaching structures, and pavement elevations <br />any other items necessary for the design. Survey shall include information at least 100' beyond <br />intersection at each direction where pavement elevations shall be provided at 20' or less interval. <br />Task 3 Preliminary Engineering and 30% Plans <br />Based on the data and information obtained in Task 2, KOA will prepare a 30%work-in-progress design <br />plans. These will include modification plans for the intersection including proposed curb returns and traffic <br />Consulting Services Agreement between May 12~, 2008 <br />City of San Leandro and KOA Corporation--Exhibit A Page 15 <br />
