JERMANIS AND APPROVING EMPLOYMENT <br />AGREEMENT WITH INTERIM CITY MANAGER STEPHEN L. HOLLISTER. <br />SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION <br />On June 16, 2008, the City Council met in closed session to evaluate the job performance of the <br />City Manager. At that time City Manager Jermanis advised the City Council that he will retire <br />from City service under the provisions of the California Public Employees Retirement System on <br />September 6, 2008. The City Council made the following determinations: <br />L City Manager Jermanis' current employment agreement will be extended by amendment <br />with the same terms and conditions through September 5, 2008; <br />2. Assistant City Manager Stephen L. Hollister will be appointed as Interim City Manager <br />effective September 6, 2008. <br />The employment agreement with Interim City Manager Hollister includes the following <br />noted provisions: <br />Section 2 (a): -Term. The agreement is for the period commencing September 6, 2008 <br />through June 30, 2009. <br />Section 4: -Right to Revert to Previously Held Position. If the Interim City Manager is <br />not appointed to the position of City Manager by the City Council he will have the right <br />to return to his previous position as the Assistant City Manager. <br />Section 5: -Salary. The salary of the Interim City Manager is 15% above step five of the <br />salary range of the highest paid City management employee. This salary level is 5% less <br />than the current City Manager is paid. <br />Section 6: -Automobile. The Interim City Manager will receive a monthly automobile <br />allowance of $475.00 to maintain and insure a personal vehicle. This is the same amount <br />provided the current City Manager. <br />Section 7: -Other Supplemental Benefits. The Interim City Manager will receive the <br />same benefits as provided to management employees to include vacation, sick leave, <br />
