This is the same level of benefits provided the <br />current City Manager. <br />Section 8: -Performance Evaluation. The City Council will evaluate the work of the <br />Interim City Manager not later than March 1, 2009 <br />3. Not later than March 1, 2009 the >rIuman Resources Director will prepare for City Council <br />consideration a recruitment schedule for the position of City Manager. This schedule will <br />include the names and references of professional recruitment firms experienced in assisting <br />City Council's in the identification, recruitment and selection of high-level municipal <br />executives. The Human Resources Director and the selected firm will assist the City Council <br />with all aspects of the process to include evaluation of the qualifications, academic <br />achievements and work experience required of City Manager candidates in arder to meet the <br />expectations of the City Council and community. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Anal <br />As amended, the contract with the current City Manager expires on September 5, 2008. The <br />effective date of the employment agreement with the Interim City Manager covers the period of <br />September 6, 2008 through June 30, 2009. <br />Current City Council Policy <br />The City Manager is appointed pursuant to Article IV, Section 400 of the San Leandro City <br />Charter and is employed under the provisions of a contractual services agreement for a defined <br />period of time. The contract may be renewed by the City Council if the job performance is <br />deemed satisfactory. <br />Previous City Council Action(s) <br />The City Council has employed John J.
