this time. <br />poor - <br />DSFRC has developed strong bonds with it's government and foundation fenders. <br />Very capable <br />Excellent <br />What role do you feel the Board plays in helping DSFRC accomplish its mission? <br />a huge role! they are the driving force. they are very engaged and know all the programs very well! <br />Fundraising, sponsorships and acting as the agency's representatives in the community <br />The roles vary for each member. Some have time and through connections, they help more than others. <br />We primarily provide accountablity and image so that Davis Street can continue its mission. <br />to help where we see help is needed, to keep them going in the right direction, but they are well organized <br />so there isn't as much to do <br />The Board is responsible for setting the direction and long terms goals for the organization <br />The board is a support for rose and davis street. However, not all attend board meetings or fund raisers. A <br />board evaluation needs to be done to detemrine the value of each board member. <br />The board of Davis Street responsibilities is to keep finacially solvent so services are provided to the <br />community <br />The board shoul dguide, be a sounding board, also be watch guards of the assets of the entity. The board <br />must keep the stazff/mgmt accountable far its actions. The board also must be a source of knowledge and <br />experience, also a source of donations whether it is personal funds or a contact's. <br />provide strategy and policy direction for the organization help raise the funds to support core services <br />provided by davis street to the community <br />Ideally the Board helps to increase the visibility of DSFRC among the leaders of the community (business, <br />political, community) in order to increase involvement, cooperation and fundraising efforts <br />Please describe the Board's strengths: <br />ability to support the ED. abiltity to fundraise, desire to continusly work on their board development. they <br />provide quality assurance to the programs and work close together to ensure internal controls compliance <br />for our auditors <br />the Board is comprised of many politically connected members. Many have valuable networks that can <br />help Davis Street. the retired folks like the visibilty the the Executive Director skillfully gives when <br />appropriate. <br />knowledge of the organization, understanding of their role, some of the board members have been on the <br />board for a long time which is good for understandng how the organization works, many community leader <br />and business owners. <br />Sustainability Study: Davis Street Family Resource Center-4/08 Page 89 of 96 <br />
