2.1 <br />REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (BFI) & ARCHITECTURAL SUPPLEMENT <br />INFORMATION (ASI) <br />The Consultant shall review and respond to properly prepared requests by the Contractor <br />for Information about the Contract Documents (BFI's) in accordance with Section 01310 <br />- `Project Management and Coordination' of the project specifications. Consultant shall <br />also prepare, reproduce and distribute supplemental Drawings and Specifications <br />(Architectural Supplemental Information (ASI)) as necessary to properly address <br />contractor questions. <br />2. Interpretations and decisions of the Consultant shall be consistent with the intent of and <br />reasonably inferable from the Contract Documents and shall be in writing or in the form <br />of drawings. When making such interpretations and initial decisions, the Consultant shall <br />endeavor to secure faithful performance by both City and Contractor, shall not show <br />partiality to either, and shall not be liable for the results of interpretations or decisions so <br />rendered in good faith. <br />2.2 <br />PROJECT MEETINGS AND SITE VISITS <br />The Consultant shall attend up to 60 site construction meetings at the City's direction. In <br />addition, the Consultant, as a representative of the City, shall visit the site after the <br />weekly meetings at intervals appropriate to the stage of the Contractor's operations, or as <br />otherwise agreed by the City and the Consultant: (1) to become generally familiar with <br />and to keep the City informed about the progress and quality of the portion of the Work <br />completed, (2) to endeavor to guard the City against defects and deficiencies in the Work, <br />and (3) to determine in general if the Work is being performed in a manner indicating that <br />the Work, when fully completed, will be in accordance with the Contract Documents. <br />However, the Consultant shall not be required to make exhaustive or continuous on-site <br />inspections to check the quality or quantity of the Work. <br />2. Consultant shall review contractor-prepared construction administration (as described <br />below) for general compliance and conformance with the information given in the <br />construction documents and as provided by the City and Contractor. The Consultant shall <br />report to the City observed deficiencies or deviations from the Contract Documents. <br />Review shall include such project schedule, change orders, progress payments, as-built <br />construction documents and other documents required per the Contract Specification <br />Sections 01250 - `Contract Modification Procedures', 01290 - `Payment Procedures', <br />01310 `Project Management and Coordination', 01320 `Construction Progress <br />Documentation' . <br />The Consultant shall make recommendations to the City regarding Work that does not <br />conform to the Contract Documents. Whenever the Consultant considers it necessary or <br />advisable, the Consultant will make recommendations to the City to require inspection or <br />testing of the Work in accordance with the provisions of the Contract Documents, <br />CSA between City of San Leandro and Group 4 Architecture Project No. 06-210-18-116 <br />San Leandro Senior Center -Phase 2 Exhibit A Page 17 <br />
