2.1 REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (BFI) & ARCHITECTURAL SUPPLEMENT INFORMATION (ASI) The Consultant shall review and respond to properly prepared requests by the Contractor for Information about the Contract Documents (BFI's) in accordance with Section 01310 - `Project Management and Coordination' of the project specifications. Consultant shall also prepare, reproduce and distribute supplemental Drawings and Specifications (Architectural Supplemental Information (ASI)) as necessary to properly address contractor questions. 2. Interpretations and decisions of the Consultant shall be consistent with the intent of and reasonably inferable from the Contract Documents and shall be in writing or in the form of drawings. When making such interpretations and initial decisions, the Consultant shall endeavor to secure faithful performance by both City and Contractor, shall not show partiality to either, and shall not be liable for the results of interpretations or decisions so rendered in good faith. 2.2 PROJECT MEETINGS AND SITE VISITS The Consultant shall attend up to 60 site construction meetings at the City's direction. In addition, the Consultant, as a representative of the City, shall visit the site after the weekly meetings at intervals appropriate to the stage of the Contractor's operations, or as otherwise agreed by the City and the Consultant: (1) to become generally familiar with and to keep the City informed about the progress and quality of the portion of the Work completed, (2) to endeavor to guard the City against defects and deficiencies in the Work, and (3) to determine in general if the Work is being performed in a manner indicating that the Work, when fully completed, will be in accordance with the Contract Documents. However, the Consultant shall not be required to make exhaustive or continuous on-site inspections to check the quality or quantity of the Work. 2. Consultant shall review contractor-prepared construction administration (as described below) for general compliance and conformance with the information given in the construction documents and as provided by the City and Contractor. The Consultant shall report to the City observed deficiencies or deviations from the Contract Documents. Review shall include such project schedule, change orders, progress payments, as-built construction documents and other documents required per the Contract Specification Sections 01250 - `Contract Modification Procedures', 01290 - `Payment Procedures', 01310 `Project Management and Coordination', 01320 `Construction Progress Documentation' . The Consultant shall make recommendations to the City regarding Work that does not conform to the Contract Documents. Whenever the Consultant considers it necessary or advisable, the Consultant will make recommendations to the City to require inspection or testing of the Work in accordance with the provisions of the Contract Documents, CSA between City of San Leandro and Group 4 Architecture Project No. 06-210-18-116 San Leandro Senior Center -Phase 2 Exhibit A Page 17
