Meeting a Variety of Social Service Needs
The city also seeks to meet the variety of social service needs in the community, maintaining a balance of
the types of services that are funded. This includes programs that currently receive funding from
the City as well as those that currently do not. Non-profit community based organizations are
eligible for, and encouraged to compete for funding. However, there is no guarantee that funding
will be provided to any particular applicant.
Demonstrating Need & Measurable Results
Organizations must demonstrate that the proposed services or program address San Leandro
community needs and have outcomes-based measurable results.
Duplication of Services & Coordination
All applicants must be prepared to explain how the services being proposed are similar to,
different from and/or complement similar services operated by other organizations serving San
Leandro residents. The city seeks to avoid funding duplication of services, except where there is
demonstrated need for multiple providers. Organizations must explain how services will be
coordinated with other service providers.
4
