Hollister Interim City Manager/ Executive Director Luke Sims, Director Community Develop ent epartment Tara Peterson, Administrative Services Mana Cynthia Battenberg~isiness Development Manager SUBJECT PROJECT/PROJECT DESCRIPTION: RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO AND RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO APPROVING A COOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO AND THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO FOR THE EAST 14TH STREET/HESPERIAN BOULEVARD/150TH AVENUE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, PROJECT NO. 144-39-001 AND APPROPRIATION OF $1,300,000 FROM THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOR ACQUISITION SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends adoption of the resolutions of the City Council and the Redevelopment Agency approving a Cooperation Agreement for the purpose of undertaking improvement activities, acquiring property and relocating a tenant relating to the East 14th Street/Hesperian Boulevard1150t" Avenue Improvement project and appropriating $1,300,000 for acquisition and relocation costs. BACKGROUND Due to the configuration of this intersection, traffic congestion is a continuing issue. This project will add a dual northbound left turn lane on East 14th Street, a southbound left turn lane on Bancroft Avenue at East 14th Street, and a northbound left turn lane on East 14th Street at Hesperian Boulevard. The right of way needed for this new configuration will leave the triangle- shaped property located at 14901 East 14th Street at the center of this intersection too small to support the current month-to-month tenant, Quality Tune-up Shop.
