(2850) <br /> <br />Mr. Hollister described the proposed guidelines, recommended by the City Council <br />Civic and Cultural Committee, which would allow the Mayor or Councilmembers to <br />request City funding for travel to a Sister City or Friendship City. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Stephens expressed support for the guidelines, but stated that he favors <br />suspending foreign travel during these difficult economic times. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Vice Mayor Stephens, seconded by Councilmember Gregory, to <br />adopt the resolution to amend the Sister City and Friendship City Guidelines, and to <br />suspend foreign travel until the economy improves. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Councilmember Prola, seconded by Councilmember Starosciak, <br />to table consideration of the resolution. <br /> <br /> Minute Order No. 2008-028 <br />, Motion to Table Consideration of the Resolution <br />Amending Sister City and Friendship City Guidelines in the City of San Leandro <br />Council Members Handbook Relating to Travel.
