Section 39. Slat~db P~ <br />A, Publzc ~~Iorks Employees <br />Employees assigned to the water pollution control plant who are required to standby <br />from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.111. shall be paid at the rate of one (1) hour sty°aight time based <br />on the employee's regular hourly rate. The employee may elect to take compensatory <br />time off in an amount equal to one (1) hours straight time in lieu of pay. Such <br />assignments typically will be made on a Saturday, Sunday and/or holiday. Employee's <br />assigned to standby from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. shall be paid at the rate of two (2) hours of <br />straight time based on the employee's regular hourly rate. The employee may elect to <br />take compensatory time off in an amount equal to two (2) hours straight time in lieu of <br />pay. Such assignments shall typically be made on a Saturday, Sunday and/or holiday. <br />Employees assigned to the public works services department -electrical section, who are <br />required to standby from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Monday through Friday shall receive, for <br />each period of standby, one (1) hour of straight time pay based on the employee's regular <br />hourly rate of pay. Employee's shall receive two (2) hours of straight time pay for each <br />Saturday, Sunday, and holiday of required standby. <br />B. Police Civilian Employees <br />For required call out or court appearance on a normal work day, a minimum of two (2) <br />hours pay at the overtime rate will be paid for the first such call out or court appearance, <br />provided, however that court appearances immediately before or after schedule duty <br />hours shall be deemed an extension of the shift and the two (2) hour minimum shall not <br />apply. For required call out or authorized work related appearance on a normal day off, a <br />minimum four (4) hours pay at the overtime rate will be paid for each of the first two (2) <br />such call outs, provided, however, that a call out on a normal day off immediately before <br />or after scheduled duty hours shall be deemed an extension of the shift and the four (4) <br />hour minimum shall not apply. For court appearance on a normal day off, a minimum <br />four (4) hours pay at the overtime rate will be paid, plus payment of necessary and actual <br />related expenses. For court appearances that extend through the courts lunch period and <br />the employee is required to return on the same case that same afternoon, the employee <br />will be paid for that period of time at the overtime rate except for a one (1) hour lunch <br />period. At the employees request and with the approval of the Police Chief <br />compensatory time off maybe granted in an amount equal to one and one-half time (1 1/2) <br />the overtime worked in lieu of pay. <br />C. Compensatory Time In Lieu of Pay for Standby <br />An employee assigned standby duty may elect to take compensatory time off in an <br />amount equal to the applicable hourly compensation for standby pay. <br />31 <br />
