We believe that project has been designed to embrace the City's vision in the Transit Oriented Development Strategy and will greatly enhance the Downtown/ BART area. The Creekside Plaza. Off ce Complex, Downtown San Leandro's first Class A office development was opened in Spring 2002 and is occupied by a number of important companies including, TriNet, a San Leandro based employer services provider. These companies greatly benefit from the proximity to the BART station and the shops and services in the Downtown, but more is needed for this new neighborhood to transition to the vibrant, pedestrian oriented community envisio-ied in the City's Transit Oriented Strategy. We believe that the San Leandro Crossings project will greatly enhance the area near our building and will be a2i important catalyst that will attract other investments-n the TOD Area. Employers at the Creekside Plaza understand how important affordable housing is for their employees. The San Leandro Crossings project will provide much needed housing (including the 100 units of affordable housing) within walking distance of our building and will allow some of those employees to enjoy the benefits of walking to work. The street improvements proposed by the project will enhance the pedestrian and bicycle paths in the area making it safer and more pleasant for walking and biking. We also believe that the new residents of San Leandro Crossings will create a demand for new businesses and increase business for existing Downtown shops. The City has created an extraordinary plan for the TOD area and we believe that the San Leandro Crossings project will help the City to achieve its goal of creating a great new downtown neighborhood.
