<br />Minutes -City of San Leandro City Council and Page 3 <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting -February 1, 1999 <br />He further questioned the Council as to which Council Members have accepted <br />contributions from the Batarse Family and/or Lloyd Wise? He feels that <br />information should be disclosed tonight. <br />The City Attorney clarified that the City is not proposing the taking of the Training <br />Facility; and, the proposed azea being considered, if taken, will not affect the <br />continuing operation of the facility. <br />B. Carey Walker, 471 Santa Monica, addressed the Council regazding the <br />pedestrian that was hit and killed at Washington and Fazgo recently. He <br />questioned why the Council is now requiring speaker cards. He further <br />commented on the railroad crossings at Fargo, indicating they need to be repaired. <br />He concluded by stating the City should get out of the loan business and start <br />thinking about the people. The City should get rid of the gun tax, the real- <br />property transfer tax, and the clean-water tax. He further indicated he will not <br />vote for any of the current Council Members at the next election and that they <br />should all resign. <br />C. Justin Agrella, 1231 - 148` Avenue, addressed the Council in opposition to the <br />Resolutions on this evening's Agenda regarding the property at 1444 Marina <br />Boulevazd He stated he has a problem when the City uses eminent domain to <br />force a property owner to sell to another property owner. He feels the action <br />being proposed tonight will leave them landlocked. <br />D. Laverne Anderson, 1495 - 159` Avenue, addressed the Council regazding red- <br />light runners and noted the California Highway Patrol has been stopping people <br />more often. He noted people should be cazeful while driving. <br />E. Dennis Hicks, 1076 Hutchings Drive, addressed the Council, asking where the <br />Waz Memorial plaque has been moved to. <br />Kathy Ornelas indicated that the plaque has been moved to Memorial Pazk by the <br />Veterans' Building. <br />F. Mike Rawles, 964 Hutchings Drive, addressed the Council regarding the lack of <br />a bicycle lane at the Washington Avenue undercrossing by the railroad tracks. <br />
