Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br />None <br />B. Reports on City Council Committees -- (See Minutes) <br />1. Facilities Committee Meeting of February 9, 1999 -- Council Member Glaze <br />reported on the meeting highlights. <br />2. Finance Committee, 1999-2000 Meeting of February 11, 1999 -- Council <br />Member Lothrop reported on the meeting highlights. <br />C. City Council Comments <br />A. Vice Mayor Galvan requested that the City Clerk place an item on an <br />upcoming Agenda regarding the issue of Renaming Facilities, relative to a <br />request regarding Lee Bruner and the issue of the election date for the year <br />2000. <br />Vice Mayor Galvan also mentioned the County Board of Supervisors and their <br />intention to support the boycott of General Foods products. He noted he, too, <br />feels strongly about taking a stand regarding teen smoking. However, he <br />suggested the Mayor write a letter regarding the City of San Leandro's <br />concerns as they relate to Kraft Foods, which has been a good corporate <br />partner with the City. Their was Council support and consensus regarding the <br />Vice Mayor's request to have the Mayor send a letter to the Board of <br />Supervisor's and a copy to Kraft Foods. <br />The Mayor agreed with Vice Mayor Galvan's concerns and noted the City <br />should be concerned with the strict enforcement of the sale of tobacco <br />products as it relates to teen smoking. <br />B. Council Member Grant thanked staff for their assistance at her Office Hours <br />event at the City Connection last weekend. She also thanked the Library for <br />their efforts in celebrating the African American History Program at the <br />Library. <br />C. Council Member Lothrop acknowledged receipt of the traffic plan for the <br />opening of Walmart and indicated staff should send copies of the plan to <br />homeowners' associations in the West Area. <br />
