Minutes -City of San Leandro City Council and Page 6 San Leandro Redevelopment Agency joint Meeting -May 3, 1999 The following Motion was then introduced: -- Minute Order No. 99-22. Matter of Finance Committee, FY 1999-2000, Report. (1156) The City Council accepted the: (1) City Council Finance Committee's Report; (2) Recommendation that the Finance Committee take the budget educational process on the road over the nett three or four months; and (3) Recommendation to begin discussions regarding a two-year budget process as opposed to a one-year budget process. M/S/C Young and Loetller. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Lothrop Mayor Young also reported that Council Member Lothrop, at the last Finance Committee Meeting, brought up information on new legislation, at the State level, which has extended the time for animal care in animal shelters. The extended time now has changed from three days to six days. Because of that, the City needs to start looking at some solution for animal care problems. Council Member Lothrop asked that this issue be supported as an issue that the Finance Committee should place on their agenda. The following Motion was then introduced: -- Minute Order No. 99-23, Matter of Referral of Animal Shelter Item to the City Council Finance Committee for Review and Recommendation. (1156/1000) The City Council referred the matter of new State legislation regarding animal shelters, including the extension from athree-day to a sig-day hold requirement, to the City Council Finance Committee for review and recommendations.
