Minutes -City of San Leandro City Council and Page 6 <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency joint Meeting -May 3, 1999 <br />The following Motion was then introduced: <br />-- Minute Order No. 99-22. Matter of Finance Committee, FY 1999-2000, <br />Report. (1156) <br />The City Council accepted the: <br />(1) City Council Finance Committee's Report; <br />(2) Recommendation that the Finance Committee take the budget <br />educational process on the road over the nett three or four <br />months; and <br />(3) Recommendation to begin discussions regarding a two-year <br />budget process as opposed to a one-year budget process. <br />M/S/C Young and Loetller. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Lothrop <br />Mayor Young also reported that Council Member Lothrop, at the last Finance <br />Committee Meeting, brought up information on new legislation, at the State <br />level, which has extended the time for animal care in animal shelters. The <br />extended time now has changed from three days to six days. Because of that, <br />the City needs to start looking at some solution for animal care problems. <br />Council Member Lothrop asked that this issue be supported as an issue that the <br />Finance Committee should place on their agenda. <br />The following Motion was then introduced: <br />-- Minute Order No. 99-23, Matter of Referral of Animal Shelter Item to the <br />City Council Finance Committee for Review and Recommendation. <br />(1156/1000) <br />The City Council referred the matter of new State legislation <br />regarding animal shelters, including the extension from athree-day to <br />a sig-day hold requirement, to the City Council Finance Committee <br />for review and recommendations. <br />M/S/C Loeffler and Grant.
