Mayor Young further reported she will be sharing with the City Council a memo regarding the A.C. Transit Local 55 Bus. She noted the issue has been resolved. She said Manuella Desoto has done an admirable job bringing this issue to the City Council's attention. The Mayor indicated she will be presenting a Commendation to Ms. Desoto on May 13, 1999. In conclusion, Mayor Young indicated she has drafted a letter, at the request of the League of California Cities, regazding AB 83. She provided copies to the City Council of the letter, as well as a copy of her letter of March 1, and a letter written one year ago regarding the same issue, from former Mayor Corbett. 6. CONSENT CALENDAR Consent Calendar items are typically routine in nature and are considered for approval by the City Council with one single action. The City Council may remove items from the Consent Calendar for purposes of discussion. Items listed on the Consent Calendar are deemed to have been read by title. Items 6.A and 6.B were removed from the Consent Calendar to New Business. The remaining items on the Consent Calendar were approved as follows: M/S/C Galvan and Grant. Resolution Approving a Contractual Services Ageement with Safe Moves Relating to the Pedestrian Safety Progam (provides for pedestrian and bicycle safety progams for all age goups within the community). Resolution No. 99-57, Resolution Approving Plans and Specifications and Calling for Bids for the San Leandro Community Library Center Seismic Retrofit, Renovation, and Expansion, Project No. 98-215-28-115, Package No. 12 - Electrical (provides for readvertising for bids for Package No. 12; all previous bids from the March 24 bid opening were rejected on April 19, 1999; the new bid opening date is scheduled for May 27, 1999).
