Minutes -City of San Leandro City Council Meeting <br />June 7, 1999 <br />Page 7 <br />He also commented on the small sandbar island at the Marina and asked if the <br />Ciry Attorney could do some reseazch regarding how to make that azea off <br />limits. <br />-- Minute Order No. 99-35, Matter of Marina Sandbaz. (1983) <br />The City Council, by consensus, referred the matter of researching the <br />issues with respect to access to the small sandbar in the Marina to the <br />City Attorney for review and a report. <br />No Vote <br />4. Council Member Nazdine asked if staff could provide the City Council with a <br />report on the cost of fixing the pothole in the School District pazking lot at <br />Burrell Field/Pacific High School Tennis Courts. <br />Council Member Nardine, with respect to comments made by the public <br />regazding the lack of public notice of the Tree Ordinance public meetings, <br />indicated there have been several newspaper articles and letters of notice to <br />homeowners' associations. She also indicated the City Council discussed the <br />issue at length during a City Council Work Session. She concluded by noting <br />the Tree Ordinance is a work in progress, and public meetings are being held <br />so that information can be gathered. <br />5. Vice Mayor Galvan commented on the highly successful Cherry Festival and <br />said the Ciry Council should have a Work Session regazding what did and did <br />not go well. <br />With respect to the misinformation in the community surrounding the "group <br />home" issue, Vice Mayor Galvan commented that, when the community needs <br />to get the facts, they should come to the City Council or to staff. <br />6. Council Member Loeffler inquired what the zoning requirements are for bazs <br />and liquor stores in the community. He suggested the City Council support <br />having the Planning Commission review the zoning requirements, the non- <br />conforminguse provisions, and how to get the most authority to regulate reuse <br />of bars and liquor stores. <br />
