Minutes -City of San Leandro City Council and Page 7 <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Special Meeting -- June 14,1999 <br />Jim Mosle, 1799 Factor Avenue, addressed the Agency/City Council, urging <br />them to select Option 3. <br />Marcia Johnson, P. O. Boz 1814, Representing the MacArthur-Estudillo <br />Gateway Association, addressed the Agency/City Council, urging them to select <br />Option 2. <br />Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, addressed the Agency/City Council, <br />stating there are no "Continued Public Comments" on tonight's Agenda. He <br />continued by urging citizens to get all the information they can regarding the <br />election of the RAC. He said he is for redevelopment and wants to get rid of the <br />"bad and the ugly" and keep the "good." He continued and quoted a publication <br />regarding "blight." He concluded by stating the Redevelopment Agency is only <br />accountable to the elected officials that form them. <br />Pat Raposo, 1947 Republic Avenue, addressed the Agency/City Council, urging <br />them to select Option 3. <br />Don Bruzzone, 1200 Snyder Lane, Walnut Creek, addressed the Agency/City <br />Council, urging them to select Option 3. <br />John Faria, RAC Member, addressed the Agency/City Council, urging them to <br />select Option 3. <br />Dale Reed, Representing the RAC and the Chamber Industrial Roundtable, <br />addressed the Agency/City Council, urging them to select Option 3. <br />Doug Federighi, 1051 MacArthur Boulevard, addressed the Agency/City <br />Council, urging them to select Option 3. <br />There being no further comments from the public, the Public Hearing was closed. <br />M/S/C Loeffler and Nardine. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Mayor Young <br />Council Member Glaze indicated there is a need for review, and the <br />Redevelopment Advisory Committee (RAC) serves the purpose of the original <br />Redevelopment Committee that was formed by the City Council but was <br />disbanded. He indicated matters could be referred to the Planning Commission by <br />the RAC should they deem it necessary. He feels the City should not add another <br />layer of review that is not necessary at this time. <br />Council Member Lothrop indicated she would expect the RAC to send issues to <br />the Planning Commission if they needed their input. <br />
