Minutes -City of San Leandro City Council and Page 7 San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Special Meeting -- June 14,1999 Jim Mosle, 1799 Factor Avenue, addressed the Agency/City Council, urging them to select Option 3. Marcia Johnson, P. O. Boz 1814, Representing the MacArthur-Estudillo Gateway Association, addressed the Agency/City Council, urging them to select Option 2. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, addressed the Agency/City Council, stating there are no "Continued Public Comments" on tonight's Agenda. He continued by urging citizens to get all the information they can regarding the election of the RAC. He said he is for redevelopment and wants to get rid of the "bad and the ugly" and keep the "good." He continued and quoted a publication regarding "blight." He concluded by stating the Redevelopment Agency is only accountable to the elected officials that form them. Pat Raposo, 1947 Republic Avenue, addressed the Agency/City Council, urging them to select Option 3. Don Bruzzone, 1200 Snyder Lane, Walnut Creek, addressed the Agency/City Council, urging them to select Option 3. John Faria, RAC Member, addressed the Agency/City Council, urging them to select Option 3. Dale Reed, Representing the RAC and the Chamber Industrial Roundtable, addressed the Agency/City Council, urging them to select Option 3. Doug Federighi, 1051 MacArthur Boulevard, addressed the Agency/City Council, urging them to select Option 3. There being no further comments from the public, the Public Hearing was closed. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Mayor Young Council Member Glaze indicated there is a need for review, and the Redevelopment Advisory Committee (RAC) serves the purpose of the original Redevelopment Committee that was formed by the City Council but was disbanded. He indicated matters could be referred to the Planning Commission by the RAC should they deem it necessary. He feels the City should not add another layer of review that is not necessary at this time. Council Member Lothrop indicated she would expect the RAC to send issues to the Planning Commission if they needed their input.
