The
second option is designed to provide an extended, ten years of use. The third option
could provide lifetime use. Both of these options range in estimates of hundreds of
thousands of dollars.
The Ad Hoc Committee is requesting the full City Council give direction to meet with
the School Board regarding options 2 and 3. The Ad Hoc Committee feels that,
before option 2 or 3 is put into motion, there should be a discussion with the School
District, the City Manager, and the Superintendent about the City of San Leandro
taking over the pool, which then could be opened up for summer community use when
restored. Council Member Nardine concluded by stating that, if everyone is involved
from the School District addressing the Health Department list, then with the deferred
maintenance funds, the Council support by raising money from businesses and the
Chamber, and the Manor Swim Tearn volunteering the work, this project will continue
to be an asset to the City and its residents. It will show the cooperative working
relationship amongst all the entities.
Public Comments Re: Pool
A.
