Minutes -City of San Leandro City Council and Page 11 <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting -September 20, 1999 <br />5. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person, for a total time period of one <br />hour. When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and <br />submit it to the City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official <br />record of names and addresses obtained. The public is invited to make any comments <br />related to Agenda items, or other items of public interest, at this time. <br />A. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, addressed the City Council regarding the <br />City Council Minutes, adding that he was glad to see Council Member Loeffler's <br />comments incorporated by reference. He indicated this paves the way for him to <br />submit his comments in the future and have them attached for reference in the <br />Minutes. <br />B. Harold Perez, 2052 Vestal Court, addressed the City Council regarding sewage <br />that will be pumped into the Bay. He added that he gets enough pollution with the <br />airplanes. He concluded by expressing concerns with traffic congestion in his <br />neighborhood. <br />6. CITY COUNCII. REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br />None <br />B. Reports on City Council Committees <br />Council Member Loeffler submitted written comments for the record, which <br />are attached and incorporated by reference. He also reported on the Disaster <br />Council Meeting which took place recently, highlighting that there will be <br />retraining of staff through CSTI (California Specialized Training Institute). He <br />commented on the upcoming October 27 functional drill that will be taking <br />place and the report on the May 26`~ exercise. He commented further on <br />neighborhood, emergency-response teams and indicated neither school district <br />was at the meeting. <br />C. City Council Comments <br />Council Member Lothrop, referencing the Captain Roberts house, indicated <br />her desire to have the City Council consider an historical preservation <br />ordinance. <br />2. Council Member Glaze indicated there is a need to have a review of the <br />historical sites in San Leandro and to create a list, including notes with regard <br />to their significance to the community. <br />
