Minutes -City of San Leandro City Council and Page 3 <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting -September 20,1999 <br />The City Council, by the following Motion, re-opened the Public Hearing <br />and took public testimony. <br />M/S/C Galvan and Nardine. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br />James Spears, 377 Paseo Grande, San Lorenzo, Representing the San <br />Lorenzo Village Homes Association, read a letter that was submitted for the <br />record, indicating their Board voted unanimously to endorse the new plans. <br />Ron Groves, 550 Paseo Del Rio, San Lorenzo, addressed the City Council in <br />support of the new proposal. <br />Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, addressed the City Council regarding the <br />public's right to speak regarding the Findings of Fact for this project. He stated <br />that, as far as he is concerned, this project is not in the Redevelopment Agency <br />area. He urged the City Council to send this item back to the Planning <br />Commission for further review. <br />There being no further comments from the public, the Public Hearing was closed. <br />M/S/C Loeffler and Glaze. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br />Council Members Grant and Lothrop indicated their appreciation for the work <br />staff, the developer, and the neighborhood have put into this new proposal. <br />Council Member Grant confirmed that, when this goes back to the Planning <br />Commission, parking and street maintenance will be addressed. <br />In addition, the Mayor stressed the need have the condition of the flood control <br />channel addressed by the County. <br />Council Member Glaze suggested the new plan be sent to the Library Historical <br />Commission for their input, as well, as it relates to the Captain Roberts house. <br />Vice Mayor Galvan thanked Supervisor Gail Steele for her input and Council <br />Member Glaze for his firm position on this project when it first came to the City <br />Council. <br />Mayor Young thanked the San Lorenzo Village Homes Association for their <br />efforts and input on this project. <br />
