Resolution of Intention Calling for a Public Hearing to Vacate a Portion of Peralta <br />Avenue from the Union Pacific Railroad/Bart Right-of--Way to the Most Westerly <br />End and Sets the Public Hearing Date on December 6, 1999 (authorizes and sets <br />the date for a Public Hearing to adopt an Ordinance of Vacation by the City of a <br />portion of Peralta Avenue). <br />Staff clarified that there are no businesses within the area that are impacted -there <br />are only residences. <br />The following Resolution was then introduced: <br />-- Resolution No. 99-159, Resolution of Intention Calling for a Public Hearing to <br />Vacate a Portion of Peralta Avenue from the Union Pacific Railroad/Bart <br />Right-of--Way to the Most Westerly End and Sets the Public Hearing Date on <br />December 6, 1999 (authorizes and sets the date for a Public Hearing to adopt <br />an Ordinance of Vacation by the City of a portion of Peralta Avenue). (1007) <br />M/S/C Loetller and Galvan. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Lothrop <br />B. Resolution No. 99-160, Resolution Approving Contractual Services Agreement <br />with Montgomery Watson Americans, Inc., Relating to Davis Street/Interstate 880 <br />Sanitary Sewer Design, Project No. 99-593-52-117 (provides for design services <br />for the subject project). Cost: NTE $240,000 (2323) <br />M/S/C Galvan and Loeffler. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Lothrop <br />C. Resolution of the City Council of the City of San Leandro Establishing an <br />Employee Housing Assistance Loan Program For Management Staff <br />Council Member Grant indicated and staff confirmed that there are no automatic <br />entitlements to these monies, and employees requesting funds will need to be credit <br />worthy. <br />Staff also said Union City extends this type of assistance to all of their employees, <br />while the City of Sunnyvale only extends this to Department Heads. It was <br />estimated that perhaps three to five employees would utilize this assistance over <br />the next five years. <br />Council Member Loeffler commented that he hopes the School District models a <br />program such as this for their employees. <br />The City Council said this program should be reviewed annually and indicated they <br />hope it can be expanded to public safety personnel in the future. <br />
