NEW BUSINESS <br />Items removed from the Consent Calendar: <br />S.B Matter of Speed Humps (amends the "Guidelines for Design and Application of <br />Speed Humps" and provides for the installation of speed humps at various locations <br />throughout the City). <br />Mayor Young commented on the letter received from A.C. Transit and suggested <br />Council support the language change requested. <br />In response to Council's question, Ray Davis explained the public process that was <br />involved in the speed-hump issue. <br />Council discussion ensued regarding studies done regarding the diversion issue due to <br />speed humps on certain streets, and it was noted the goal is to keep through traffic <br />out of the area. It was noted that speed humps do slow down emergency vehicles. <br />Mayor Young noted that staff will clear up any discrepancies regarding signatures <br />from the Neptune Drive area before doing speed humps on that street. <br />
