Amount: $815,000 (1051) <br />The City Council accepted the Finance Committee's Recommendations for <br />Budget Reductions for Fiscal Year 1998-99. Council directed the staff to <br />bring back the changes in the form of a Resolution at the November 2, <br />1998, City Council Meeting. <br />M/S/C Galvan and Lothrop. Ayes: 5; Noes: Loeffler; Absent: Nardine <br />B. Resolution No. 98-141, Resolution Supporting the Youth Development Master <br />Plan Created by the San Leandro Collaborative for Children, Youth, and Their <br />Families. (1947) <br />Council Member Loeffler reported on the work he had done with Wilma Chan and <br />the two School Districts; and reported on having talked with other City Officials <br />about this at the League of California Cities Conference in Long Beach. He <br />concluded by indicating that he would hope the Council endorses this and indicated <br />that both School Districts are in the process of adopting resolutions of support. <br />M/S/C Loeffler and Lothrop. OPEN FORUM <br />Open Forum is limited to 3 minutes maximum per speaker, 15 minutes total. <br />A Carey Walker, 471 Santa Monica, addressed the Council indicating that there <br />needs to be more police officers, specifically traffic officers, to control red light <br />runners and speeders. <br />B. Bob Glotch, Dir. of the San Leandro Boys and Girls Club, addressed the <br />Council thanking them for their continued support of the Club. He indicated that <br />of all the things that could have been eliminated, the $40,000 for maintenance <br />would have the least impact on them. He indicated that they are fortunate in that <br />they will be receiving more program funds from grants this year. <br />C. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Dr., addressed the Council disagreeing with <br />most of what was said this evening regarding the budget. He feels that the <br />
