East 14~' Underground Ph. 2 3 May 18, 2009 <br />Permits and/or Variances Granted <br />Not Applicable <br />Environmental Review <br />• This project is Categorically Exempt <br />Code Compliance Review <br />Not Applicable <br />Board/Commission Findings <br />Not Applicable <br />Summary of Public Outreach Efforts <br />• Staff informed affected property owners of the public hearing by posting public notices <br />within the proposed district, mailing notices to the affected property owners, and publishing a <br />notice in the local newspaper <br />Fiscal Impact <br />• Total project cost for this Utility Company and City project is approximately $12,000,000 <br />• The utility companies' share is approximately $8,800,000. PG&E's portion will be funded <br />through the Rule 20A -Electric Undergrounding Program tariff, which is funded by <br />customers through electric rates <br />• The City's share is approximately $3,200,000. These cost are anticipated to be funded <br />primarily by the Underground Utility Replacement Fund with any remaining shortfall from <br />the Redevelopment Agency Fund <br />• Individual property owners will be required to install new underground conduit from their <br />service panel or meter to the public right of way.
