MINUTES Page 8 <br />City of San Leandro City Council and San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Joint Meeting-May 4, 2009 <br />11. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br />Councilmember Gregory reported that he attended the Association of Bay Area <br />Governments (ABAG) Spring General Assembly on April 23, and commented on the <br />challenges of implementing the requirements of Assembly Bi1132 and Senate Bi11375. <br />Councilmember Starosciak reported that the bids for phase I of the Warm Springs <br />BART extension came in at up to 45% below projected costs. <br />B. Reports on Conferences and Seminars <br />None. <br />C. Reports on Empowerment Funds <br />Councilmember Souza reported that she plans to contribute $200 from her Community <br />Empowerment Funds to Stepping Stones for its Higher Step Program. <br />Councilmember Gregory reported that he plans to contribute $500 from his Community <br />Empowerment Funds to Roosevelt Elementary School for a shade structure. <br />Mayor Santos reported that he plans to contribute one-half of the cost of a refrigerator <br />for Garfield Elementary School from his Community Empowerment Funds. <br />D. Reports on City Council Committees <br />1. City and San Lorenzo Unified School District Liaison Committee Meeting of <br />Apri123, 2009. Accepted as submitted. <br />2. Facilities and Transportation Committee Meeting of April 14, 2009. Accepted as <br />submitted. <br />3. Finance Committee Meeting of Apri121, 2009. Accepted as submitted. <br />Councilmember Souza expressed appreciation for referring the Farrelly Pool <br />matter to the Finance Committee. Councilmember Souza suggested that <br />consideration should be made for increasing fees for library programs as well as <br />pool use. <br />Mayor Santos agreed that it may be time to review user fees for City programs. <br />4. Shoreline-Marina Committee: Shoreline Development Citizens Advisory <br />Committee Meetings of January 21, 2009; February 25, 2009; March 18, 2009; <br />and April 15, 2009. Accepted as submitted. <br />
