City in Task 4.1.1 with agreed upon modifications. The plan sheets will be 24 inch by 36 inch
(24 x 36) and will generally be 1 inch=20 feet or a scale that will adequately convey the
information required with details generally at 1 inch=l0 feet.
We will complete the plans up to 35% only, but some plan sheets will be placeholders far the
65% to 75% design phase. It is anticipated that the 35% improvement plan set will consist of the
following sheets:
• Title (1): Project information, vicinity map, location map, sheet index and contact information.
• Notes (1): Standard City and Engineer's notes, legend, and abbreviations.
• Sections and Details (1): Typical roadway sections, sheet layouts, and details for work described
on the plans.
• Demolition (2): Items to be removed or protected.
• Plan Sheets (4): Horizontal and vertical information for the surface improvements.
• Traffic Signals ($): Three signal modifications and one new signalized intersection with
appropriate equipment and conductor schedules (conductor schedule not completed at 35%).
• Street Lighting (2): Electrolier, conduit, and pull box locations with conductor information and
details (electrolier locations only shown at 35%).
• Signing and Pavement Marking (2): Installation, relocation and/or removal of signs and pavement
markings.
Based on input received on the Conceptual Design, preliminary concepts will be prepared for the
streetscape design. The preliminary streetscape design will consist of the following:
• Tree type and location, including a list of appropriate species.
• Other planting type and location, if appropriate to the design concept.
• Street and pedestrian lighting type and location (Photometric studies are not included in this
scope of services but can be provided by a street light/electrical consultant with additional
authorization if desired).
• Street furnishings location, size and appearance (Furnishings will include seating, trash
receptacles, newspaper stands, bicycle racks, tree grates and guards, bollards and transit
shelters [in consultation with AC TransitJ).
• Preliminary schedule of materials, textures, colors and shapes for paving surfaces and elements.
• Opportunities for public art, considering locations such as sidewalks, benches, trash receptacles,
banner and transit shelters.
• An engineer's opinion of probable costs will be prepared.
Additional sheets that maybe needed for the complete construction document but will NOT be
included in the 35% plan set are:
• Erosion Control (2): Erosion control details and locations of erosion control to be addressed
during construction.
• Permanent NPDES features (3): Storm drain items to clean water in the system.
• Construction Phasing (5): Anticipated phasing of construction per Caltrans Standards.
San Leandro Blvd-BART Interface Plan June, 2009
28 of 38
