Rocha, Executive Director <br />Phone: 510-581-9380 (ext. 17) <br />Project Name: Fair Housing Services <br />PROJECT GOALS AND OBJECTIVES <br />1. Provide fair housing services to residents of San Leandro, including complaint intake, evaluation, <br />investigation, counseling, conciliation, mediation (if requested by the tenant), and legal/governmental <br />referrals (when appropriate). <br />2. Conduct outreach, training and educational workshops focusing on tenants, property owners, and <br />property managers. <br />3. Conduct targeted audits to determine potential patterns of discrimination. <br />PERFORMANCE MEASURES <br />A. Process Inquiries and Complaints <br />1. Serve at least 14 clients inquiring about fair housing and related issues, and/or alleging housing <br />discrimination. <br />2. Evaluate and investigate complaints within 24 hours, when feasible. Trained investigators, following <br />established fair housing investigative methods, will perform all investigations. <br />3. Seventy-five percent (75%), or 11 of 14 complainants, who have been denied housing or are in danger <br />of losing their housing because of illegal housing discrimination, will be afforded conciliation or referrals <br />to attorneys or governmental agencies for enforcement to make the subject rentals accessible to <br />protected classes. <br />B. Perform Audits <br />1. Perform 12 housing audits to determine fair housing compliance. <br />2. Analyze data. <br />3. Provide training and follow-up to non-compliant property owners and/or managers. <br />C. Training <br />1. Hold one annual event (fair housing seminar). <br />2. Conduct three (3) fair housing training sessions for tenants and/or potential homebuyers. <br />3.
