Report on Closed Session Actions Taken <br />City Attorney Williams reported that, in connection with Item 8.I. on tonight's Consent <br />Calendar, the City Council approved the settlements of the Burke v. City of San <br />Leandro and Acuna v. City of San Leandro cases. The cases were settled within the <br />authority given the City Attorney. The vote by the Council in favor of the settlements <br />was 7-0. <br />11. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br />Vice Mayor Starosciak reported that she attended the most recent meeting of ACTIA on <br />the Mayor's behalf. The Board discussed the BART Oakland Airport connector project, <br />and received a staff report that calculated construction bids received between December <br />2008 and June 2009. The report showed that the eight contracts awarded during that <br />time totaled $308 million, while the engineer's estimates totaled $522 million, for a <br />59% savings. Vice Mayor Starosciak reported on the meeting of the League of <br />California Cities East Bay Division, which is trying to keep legislators from taking local <br />gas tax, redevelopment and properly tax funds. The next meeting will be held on July <br />16 at Paradiso. <br />
