<br />Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and Page - 9 - <br />Redevelopment Agency Meeting - February 3, 1997 <br />7. OPEN FORUM <br />Open Forum is limited to 3 minutes maximum per speaker, 15 minutes total. <br />A. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, commented on the Letter of Intent <br />between the Redevelopment Agency and Creekside Center Associates, use of <br />Agency-owned property, and funding of the project. It was noted that <br />open meetings would occur. <br />B. Rick Richards, Friends of the Creek, said it was a positive experience <br />to work on the Corp Yard proposal, He said there is interest in <br />preserving the Creek. <br />C. Judy Sidmyer, 415 Woodland Park, commended staff for their work on the <br />Corp Yard proposal and said high-quality tenants are critical, <br />especially as a regional draw. <br />D. Cary Walker, 471 Santa Monica, asked for the definition of a "Saturday <br />Night Special." <br />E. Tam Guarino, San Leandro Chamber of Commerce, complimented the Council <br />for their work on the City Manager position, congratulated John <br />Jermanis, and recognized Wandzia Grycz for her work. <br />8. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br />1. Mayor Corbett said she had met with Vince Harris, Alameda County <br />Transportation Authority; the deadline for submittal of Committee <br />membership is February 14, 1997. <br />B. Reports on City Council Subcommittees <br />1. Council Member Loeffler, representing the Facilities Committee, spoke <br />on the seismic retrofit of the fire stations. Interim City Manager <br />Grycz noted the issue will be brought to the Finance Committee. <br />Mayor Corbett asked for input regarding the creation of a Technology <br />Subcommittee. <br />C. City Council Comments <br />1. Council Member Galvan recognized Wandzia Grycz for her hard work over <br />the past months and congratulated John Jermanis. <br />2. Council Member Young concurred with Council Member Galvan. She said <br />she had spent the weekend at the Youth Advisory Commission Retreat <br />and urged the Council to attend a YAC meeting. <br />3. Vice Mayor Polvorosa thanked Wandzia Grycz and congratulated John <br />Jermanis. <br />
