Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and <br />Redevelopment Agency Meeting - March 3, 1997 <br />Page - 3 - <br />G. Walter Boland, 1901 Nome Street, resides at the corner of Nome and Sitka <br />Streets and said there is a problem with excess speeding. He supports <br />the speedhumps and the stop signs. <br />H. Verna Whitman, 1800 Nome Street, has concerns over the trucks on <br />Williams Street jumping the curbs and creating potholes. She said she <br />had met with a representative from Media Copy and they are willing to <br />fund a soundwall. <br />I. Ed Guardez, 2302 Sitka Street, supports the speedhumps and stop signs. <br />He said the stop signs on Williams Street are being knocked down by <br />trucks. <br />J. Syd Sadeghi, 1330 - 139th Avenue, supports the school bond and said that <br />the children need better schools. <br />K. Larry Norry, 2532 Williams Street, said he prefers the four-way stop <br />signs and asked about the process to install the speedhumps. Mayor <br />Corbett clarified the item on this evening's Agenda. <br />L. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, commented on redevelopment, the <br />definition of blight, tax increment, and eminent domain. <br />6. CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Consent Calendar items are typically routine in nature and are considered <br />for approval by the City Council with one single action. The City Council <br />may remove items from the Consent Calendar for purposes of discussion. <br />Items listed on the Consent Calendar are deemed to have been read by title. <br />Item 6.D was removed from the Consent Calendar to New Business. The <br />remaining items on the Consent Calendar were approved as follows: <br />M/S/C Loeffler and Young. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br />A. Minutes of the Meeting of February 3, 1997. Approved as submitted. <br />B. Resolution No. 97-17, Resolution Approving the Destruction of Specific <br />Records No Longer Needed by the San Leandro Police Department (provides <br />for the destruction of personnel files of employees separated from the <br />Police Department in the year 1989; personnel complaints filed in the <br />year 1989 which have been fully resolved; departmental actions older <br />than three years; and departmental background investigation files and <br />field training officer files older than two years). Resolution No. 97-18, Resolution Deleting Stop Sign, Intersection, Title <br />VI, Chapter 1 of the San Leandro Municipal Code, Martinez Street at <br />Thornton Street (provides for removal of stop sign on Martinez Street at <br />Thornton Street southbound approach).
