OPEN FORUM <br />Open Forum is limited to 3 minutes maximum per speaker, 15 minutes total. <br />A. Stuart Alexander, 2463 West 133rd Avenue, addressed the Council on <br />behalf of the Small Business Association. He expressed concern that he <br />had recently contacted the City regarding a Conditional Use Permit for <br />their building. He commented on the cost of the Conditional Use Permit, <br />indicating that by charging X525.00, it is not conducive to welcoming <br />organizations to the City. <br />8. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br />None <br />B. Reports on City Council Subcommittees <br />None <br />C. City Council Comments <br />1. Mayor Corbett presented former Vice Mayor Polvorosa with a plaque, <br />memorializing his service to the Council as Vice Mayor over the last <br />year. <br />Council Member Polvorosa commented on how it has been a pleasure for <br />him to serve as the Vice Mayor. <br />2. Council Member Polvorosa also thanked Jacqui Diaz for serving as <br />Acting City Clerk and as the Specialist in CDBG Funding at the same <br />time for the 1 ast several months, as thi s i s her 1 ast meeting as <br />Acting City Clerk. <br />Ms. Diaz responded by thanking the Council and staff for their <br />patience over the past months. <br />City Manager John Jermanis acknowledged Jacqui for the great job she <br />has done over the last several months and presented her with a small <br />gift. <br />3. Council Member Lothrop commented on her attendance at a recent <br />meeting with the FAA regarding airport noise issues. She indicated <br />that the FAA had participated with San Francisco in airport <br />roundtable discussions, which were supported by the Port of Oakland, <br />and suggested that the Council might want to pursue that same type of <br />roundtable discussion with the Oakland Airport. Council, in <br />response, indicated their support to preliminarily investigate having <br />such discussions and what they would entail. <br />
