OPEN FORUM Open Forum is limited to 3 minutes maximum per speaker, 15 minutes total. A. Stuart Alexander, 2463 West 133rd Avenue, addressed the Council on behalf of the Small Business Association. He expressed concern that he had recently contacted the City regarding a Conditional Use Permit for their building. He commented on the cost of the Conditional Use Permit, indicating that by charging X525.00, it is not conducive to welcoming organizations to the City. 8. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS AND COMMENTS A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies None B. Reports on City Council Subcommittees None C. City Council Comments 1. Mayor Corbett presented former Vice Mayor Polvorosa with a plaque, memorializing his service to the Council as Vice Mayor over the last year. Council Member Polvorosa commented on how it has been a pleasure for him to serve as the Vice Mayor. 2. Council Member Polvorosa also thanked Jacqui Diaz for serving as Acting City Clerk and as the Specialist in CDBG Funding at the same time for the 1 ast several months, as thi s i s her 1 ast meeting as Acting City Clerk. Ms. Diaz responded by thanking the Council and staff for their patience over the past months. City Manager John Jermanis acknowledged Jacqui for the great job she has done over the last several months and presented her with a small gift. 3. Council Member Lothrop commented on her attendance at a recent meeting with the FAA regarding airport noise issues. She indicated that the FAA had participated with San Francisco in airport roundtable discussions, which were supported by the Port of Oakland, and suggested that the Council might want to pursue that same type of roundtable discussion with the Oakland Airport. Council, in response, indicated their support to preliminarily investigate having such discussions and what they would entail.
