Minutes - Gity of San Leandro City Council,
San Leandro Redevelopment Agency, and San Leandro
Public Financing Authority Joint Meeting - May 19, 1997
8. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS AND COMMENTS
A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies
Page - 11 -
1. Vice Mayor Loeffler commented briefly on the recent meeting of the
Alameda Reuse and Redevelopment Authority, at which they recently put
out a chart of the reorganization of the City of Alameda's structure.
He provided copies to Council for their information.
B. Reports on City Council Subcommittees
1. Council Member Polvorosa reported on the status of the City Council's
Committee on Committees. He noted that none of the Committees have
been eliminated as of yet. He reported that there will be a report
and recommendations coming to the Council at a later date. Given the
first set of Minutes have been distributed, he encouraged the Council
to submit any comments they might have for consideration by the
Committee, as well as any concerns. A brief Council discussion took
place regarding recommendations as stated in the Committee Minutes,
and Council Member Polvorosa, given the concerns expressed by the
balance of Council regarding issues that had been discussed and
recommendations being formed, noted that the Minutes do not reflect
any final recommendations.
Council Member Lothrop also indicated that the Committee just felt it
was important to keep the Council informed and wanted people to know
they had started a dialogue regarding specific issues.
Council Member Polvorosa concluded by stating that the Committee will
be meeting again June 9, 1997, and a report with recommendations will
be coming to Council at a later date.
C. City Council Comments
1. Council Member Galvan extended his condolences to the Justino family
regarding their recent loss. She concluded by stating that the
funeral services would be held on May 27, 1997, at the Methodist
Church on Bancroft Avenue.
3.
