(1099/1009/1024) <br />- Passed to Print <br />M/S/G Galvan and Young. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br />4. PUBLIC HEARING -- JOINT CITY COUNCIL/SAN LEANDRO REDEVELOPMENT <br />AGENCY <br />A. Matter of Joint City Council/San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Public <br />Hearing Regarding Sale of the Corp Yard Site, 960 San Leandro Boulevard, <br />Plaza 2 Redevelopment Project. <br />- Staff Report. <br />- Mitigated Negative Declaration. <br />- Report of Redevelopment Agency on Plan Amendment No. 14, Plaza 2 <br />Redevelopment Project. <br />- Reuse Report and Reuse Appraisal. <br />- Form of the Disposition and Development Agreement. <br />1. Conduct Joint Public Hearing <br />This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above <br />matter, Leslie Gould, Manager of Redevelopment Projects, gave a brief <br />staff report; and, in response to a question from Council Member <br />Young, indicated the issue of shopping carts could be addressed <br />within the agreement that would be more refined in the Disposition <br />and Development Agreement (DDA). <br />The Hearing was then opened to the public. <br />Rick Richards, 335 Peralta Avenue, addressed the Council and <br />reiterated his support for the project. He feels this will provide <br />a real enhancement for the Creek. He explained in greater detail <br />plans for the Creek; and, on behalf of the "Friends of the San <br />Leandro Creek," concluded by urging Council's approval. <br />Laurence Lancaster, 1132 Carpentier Street, addressed the Council in <br />support of the proposal, as long as Carpentier Street still remains <br />closed and there is afree-speech space by the supermarket. <br />Glenn Hilton, 687 Pershing Drive, addressed the Council in support of <br />the proposed project, <br />Al Rosenga, 534 Parrot Street, representing the Peralta Citizens` <br />Association, addressed the Council in support of the proposal and <br />urged Council's approval. <br />
