Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council Meeting
September 15, 1997
Page - 8 -
B. Resolution Amending Golf Fee Rates for the Tony Lema and Marina
Golf Courses (increases greens fees charged for the golf courses,
effective October 1, 1997).
- Letter from the Recreation and Parks Commission Recommending
Approval of the Proposed Golf Course Green Fees.
David Sams, Golf Course Operations Manager, gave a brief report
regarding the proposed fees. He noted they are recommending
maintaining the current policy on Club Days for the Men's and
Women's Clubs, which allows for non-residents to play at the
"resident" fee. He also noted they are proposing a "Senior Non-
Resident" rate on a daily basis.
Council questions were asked and answered regarding the percentage
of involvement of residents versus non-residents as it relates to
the Men's and Women's Club.
The following Resolution was then introduced:
Resolution No. 97-123, Resolution Amending Golf Fee Rates for the
Tony Lema and Marina Golf Courses (increases greens fees charged
for the golf courses, effective October 1, 1997). (1851)
M/S/C Glaze and Polvorosa. Ayes: 6; Noes: 0; Absent: Galvan
G. Resolution Approving Joint Powers Agreement Relating to Direct
Access Electric Aggregation Agreement By and Between the
Association of Bay Area Governments and the City of San Leandro
(allows the City to participate in the ABAG purchasing consortium
for electricity and gas).
Bob Rockett, Director of Public Works Services, gave a brief staff
report describing the City's participation in the ABAG purchasing
consortium for electricity and gas.
Council Member Glaze indicated he is glad to see that it is a one-
year contract.
Mayor Corbett stated it is prudent that we go slowly and carefully
with this contract.
It was clarified that the City Manager would be the appointed
representative to the JPA and that the Council representative to
ABAG would have access to the information as well.
Mayor Corbett asked if this would get us the lowest rate we could
possibly hope to achieve. Staff responded that it does.
Vice Mayor Loeffler indicated there are 7,000 governmental
agencies impacted by this process. ABAG is only dealing with
those cities around the Bay.
