Sanitary District can proceed with a project by themselves and they are prepared to do
that. So, there will be a project. Dublin-San Ramon -they are committed to doing a
project.
Mayor Corbett: Now, can I say something? And, I want to hear what Julian and Garry
have to say also, but if I could just throw this out here. Let me just ask the City
Manager a question. Mr. City Manager, and I'm going to ask the Council a question,
is there enough time to have asub-committee of the Council, consisting of Council
Member Galvan and Council Member Glaze, to get together prior to our first meeting
in November -have them have an opportunity to sit down and talk about the various
mitigation issues and I know what the City Attorney has just said -that it's a separate
issue beyond this agreement. But, I believe that asub-committee of the Council,
meaning Bab and Gordon, should meet before it comes back to the Council, before it has
to go back to EBDA, to make sure all the "I"s are dotted and the "T"s are crossed. And
then I also have to ask, if the Council is acceptable to that process.
Council Member Glaze: Yeah, if we can make it -and I'm basing this on what I have
been listening to from the City Attorney tonight - is that if the City Attorney can assure
me that this agreement that we pass tonight, if we can go ahead with this and develop
a separate list of mitigations that we can sit down and go forward with to LAVWMA,
without jeopardizing losing it - I'm willing to pass this tonight with us going with a
separate mitigation plan to LAVWMA. If that is possible, without us jeopardizing it,
then I have no problem.
October 20, 1997 -Verbatim Transcript, Item 6.A 23
