Mayor Corbett: I understand what you are saying and I understand the delicacy -the
delicate nature of keeping those five votes balanced. But, I still have to say that I still
think that it is a good idea for the three of you to get together because you can have even
more of that discussion and pass on the information with regard to, you know, those five
votes. And, as you know it's been delicate for the last 10 years -that's why it's still
being negotiated. So, anyway, I still think it's a good idea to go about having the sub-
committee go and hash this out and come back to us the first meeting in November.
And, I think we'll have all the issues addressed by then.
City Attorney Meyers: Let me just make one point clear. I don't think you can achieve
the goals that Council Member Glaze is referring to without changing the language of the
contract.
Mayor Corbett: Well, that's going to be part of the discussion in the sub-committee.
Council Member Polvorosa: I'd just like to -you know, the advice you gave us Steve?
Can you have that worded for us for the sub-committee?
City Attorney Meyers: Yes.
Mayor Corbett: Steve can be there far the sub-committee, too. Vice Mayor Loeffler,
do you have something to say?
October 20, 1997 -Verbatim Transcript, Item 6.A 26
