Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council and Page - 9 - <br />San Leandro Redevelopment Agency Meeting - October 20, 1997 <br />B. Larry Norry, 2532 Williams Street, addressed the Council regarding the <br />letter received by Wendel, Rosen, Black and Dean, requesting a <br />continuance of the Appeal on tonight's Agenda. He asked if they will be <br />allowed to Appeal the Board of Zoning Adjustments' decision again. <br />Staff responded that they would have the opportunity to do so. <br />C. Laverne Anderson, 1495 - 159th Street, addressed the Council, stating he <br />would like to see the Sausage and Suds Event continued again next year. <br />With regard to the Farmers' Market, he commented that perhaps it would <br />do better if it took place in the middle of the week. With regard to <br />recycling, he inquired about how to get tenants to comply. He sees real <br />problems with trying to get compliance. <br />8. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br />A. Council Member Lothrop commented on the Davis Street Transfer Station <br />Flea Market and how successful it was. <br />2. Vice Mayor Loeffler reported on the League of California Cities <br />Conference, which the Youth Advisory Commission attended. He <br />reported that the YAC represented the City well and briefly commented <br />on their participation in the session regarding Youth Advisory <br />Commissions. <br />Vice Mayor Loeffler commented on the San Leandro Collaborative <br />meeting last week and the draft of the Youth and Family Master Plan. <br />He said he attended the High School Spirit Rally as a judge and noted <br />the amount of positive energy at that event. He concluded by asking <br />if there is away to have the street-sweeping schedule printed weekly <br />in the San Leandro Times? <br />3. Council Member Glaze commented on the YAC's attendance at the League <br />of California Cities Conference and the pride he felt with how well <br />they represented the City. He commented on a presentation made <br />regarding Skateboard Parks and the suggestion that there be no <br />attendants due to liability issues. He asked that the City Attorney <br />look into that issue. <br />4. Council Member Polvorosa recognized Rosie Rios for a job well done on <br />the Sausage and Suds Festival. <br />
