to 120 minutes of streaming digital video to be stored on a standard compact disk, or up to 800
minutes on a standard 4.7GB DVD
When performing the video inspection of a line segment, collected data is formatted to easily
append to Information Management Systems (IMS) in use by the Owner. The TV Inspection
software shall build a directory structure based on the inspection name, the date and a unique
identifier. A data log is created to store the inspection data. As images are captured, they are
stored in the inspection directory as JPEG files with unique names generated from the event
code, footage and direction. The video files are stored in this directory as well as MPEG-4
compressed AVI files. The data log file itself can be exported in either atab-delimited text file
or as an XML file.
The proposed TV Inspection software shall provide an integrated DVD/CD Creation Wizard to
simplify the creation of disks. The wizard walks the operator through the creation process,
providing an intuitive interface for selecting inspections for uploading. The interface provides
sorting capabilities to allow organizing groups of inspections into logical blocks of data. Once
inspections are selected, the rest of the disk creation process proceeds via the DVD/CD Creation
Wizard. The TV inspection software shall provide a utility for purging data from the hard drive.
The Disk Cleanup Utility is run after a DVD or CD has been created to record the inspections
that have been uploaded
Live Footage shall be able to be displayed on multiple monitors so all persons in the van may
view it.
Captuxe interface shall be provided to enhance the captured image. With each event, the still
image shall be captured and displayed in the capture screen along with an interface for selecting
the damage code.
The system shall offer a Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) 1 system for ensuring
the integrity of the two (2) system hard drives.. With the RAID 1 system, a mirror image of the
master hard drive is always maintained on the slave hard drive. Redundancy and mirroring
provides minimum downtime and a high level of security and integrity for the stored data.
PICAX OFFICE VIEWER~`M
Office Viewing and Editing System
Office viewer shall be installed on office computer running a Microsoft Windows Operating
System. Viewer shall provide easy and effective way to view, edit and analyze pipeline
inspection data that was captured by TV inspection software onboard TV van.
Opening inspections from various sources such as CD / DVD's, the local drive or a network
mapped computer is easily accomplished with the Viewer. After the user has selected the
inspection source, the program automatically searches for all valid inspections residing in that
location. The user can sort and query this list of inspections based on a variety of measures.
Sanitary Sewer Asset Management System 02/08/2005
Account No. 593-52-y9~Z/Z Page 25 of 32
