A-2.2.2 Wireless Communication: Consultant shall contract with a <br />subconsultant (McCain Traffic) to conduct a site and path analysis for <br />each of the following seven intersections: Washington Ave. at <br />Beatrice St. and at 143rd Ave.; Lewelling Blvd. at Farnsworth St. and <br />at Wicks Blvd.; Doolittle Dr. at Marina Ave. and at Fairway Dr.; and <br />San Leandro Blvd. at Washington Ave. At each intersection, the <br />analysis shall identify a clear path to the nearest fiber-equipped <br />intersection, the recommended frequency for communication, <br />suggested antenna locations, equipment requirements, and locations <br />of any repeaters, if needed. The results of the analysis and <br />recommendations shall be presented in a brief technical report. <br />Upon receipt of the technical report, Consultant shall prepare a <br />conceptual plan for each intersection that includes antenna and radio <br />equipment locations. Consultant shall then prepare a preliminary <br />construction cost estimate for each intersection. <br />A-2.2.3 Emergency Vehicle Preemption: At six to be identified before or <br />during Task 1, Consultant shall prepare conceptual plans that identify <br />the locations for each EVP detector, for EVP discriminators in each <br />cabinet, phase assignments, and any other additional equipment that <br />will be necessary. Consultant shall then prepare a preliminary <br />construction cost estimate for each intersection. <br />A-2.3 Task 3 -Final Design <br />Based on the results of the Preliminary Design phase, Consultant shall revise the <br />conceptual plans to reflect the decisions made in the previous tasks and prepare <br />project contract documents including specifications, cost and quantity estimates, <br />and drawings in coordination with City staff as detailed below. <br />Project drawings shall be prepared in accordance with the City's drafting <br />standards and will be on City's standard borders (24"x36"). Plans shall conform <br />to the City's Standard Plans supplemented by the latest Caltrans Standard Plans. <br />Consultant's drafting standards, standard details, symbols, and abbreviations shall <br />supplement the standards as appropriate. The CAD files will be saved in <br />AutoCAD 2000 format. Drawings shall be scaled appropriately to show the <br />necessary information. Although the final layout and number of plan sheets may <br />vary during this phase, the project Plan Set is anticipated to include the following: <br />• Cover Sheet with Vicinity Map and Index of Drawings (1 sheet); <br />~ Signal Modification Plans -Detector Installation (22 sheets); <br />• Signal Modification Plans -EVP Installation (12 sheets); <br />• Signal Modification Plans -Wireless Communication Installation (14 sheets); <br />• Notes and Details (5 sheets); <br />• Quantity Sheet (2 sheets). <br />Advanced Signal System Traffic Sample Detectors 2/17/05 <br />Project No. OS-120-28-164 Page 17 of 22 <br />
