Project Specifications shall be prepared to conform to the City's standard format <br />using MS Word, and in accordance with the Standard Specifications for Public <br />Works Construction (The Greenbook, latest edition) and applicable Caltrans <br />Standard Specifications. Consultant shall prepare the specifications for the <br />technical provisions portions of the Project Contract Book (Construction <br />Materials and Construction Methods) utilizing a City prepared Base <br />Specifications document. City will be responsible for preparing the Bidding, <br />Agreement and Special Provisions sections, and the final assembly and <br />reproduction of the Bid Documents. <br />Consultant shall prepare detailed estimates of construction quantities and cost, <br />based on the preliminary costs and on supplemental field work. The estimates <br />shall be broken down in to standard bid items and prepared in a format similar to <br />how contractors have recently prepared bids for similar projects. <br />A-2.3.1 65% Plans, Specifications and Estimates: Consultant shall prepare <br />and submit 65% plans, specifications and estimates (PS&E) based <br />upon the approved conceptual plans and City's comments. <br />Consultant's 65% submittal shall include a written response to the <br />preliminary design review comments, and five (5) sets of the <br />following: reduced plan sheets (11"x17"), draft specifications, and <br />detailed cost estimates. <br />In addition, Consultant shall attend up to two meetings, one to present <br />and discuss the 65% submittal, and the second to discuss City's <br />comments on the 65% submittal and to review the project schedule. <br />A-2.3.2 95% PS&E: Consultant shall revise the 65% PS&E based upon the <br />City's comments and prepare and submit 95% PS&E. The 95% <br />PS&E shall be essentially complete and ready for bidding. <br />Consultant's 95% submittal shall include the City's 65% submittal <br />review comments, a written response to the City's comments, and five <br />(5) sets of the following: reduced plan sheets (11 "xl T'), draft <br />specifications, and detailed cost estimates. <br />In addition, Consultant shall attend up to two meetings, one to present <br />and discuss the 95% submittal, and the second to discuss City's <br />comments on the 95% submittal and to review the project schedule. <br />A-2.3.3 Final PS&E: Consultant shall revise the 95% PS&E based upon the <br />City's comments and prepare final contract documents. One (1) set of <br />final plans shall be plotted full size on vellum, signed and stamped, <br />submitted to City for final approval. Final plans shall also be <br />submitted on CD in AutoCAD 2000 format.
