Consultant should
assume their attendance will be required at a minimum of 12 meetings: 3 project
permitting and design meetings with City and consultants, 3 meetings with
regulatory agencies, Pre-Bid Meeting (City), Pre-Construction Conference (City),
and 4 project regulatory compliance meetings during construction.
6. Task 6 -Provide Pre-Dredging Notifications
Consultant shall assist the City in preparing the necessary notifications for BCDC,
Corps, and any other resource agencies, including all required attachments. For
BCDC, a brief letter indicating the expected start date and anticipated duration of
the dredging is anticipated to be sufficient.
7. Task 7 -Monitor Ongoing Dredging Operations
Consultant shall monitor the DMMS on a twice a week basis for the City's
dredging of the berths. It is anticipated that the actual days of field
reconnaissance will vary from week to week to insure objectivity in the
compliance monitoring. Consultant should assume an average of a half-day per
field reconnaissance. The Project Director will monitor the operation at least
once weekly (project duration estimated at 12 weeks), with additional monitoring
provided by an associate as assigned by the Director. At the end of each week,
Consultant shall submit to the City a completed checklist of observations made
during that week. A sample checklist will be prepared at project initiation and
submitted to the Engineer for review and comment prior to its use during the
monitoring operations.
This cost to complete this task shown in Exhibit B is preliminary and excludes the
cost of required decant and/or receiving water sampling and analysis for the
City's dredging project. Once the final permitting requirements of the DMMO
agencies are known, Consultant shall submit a revised cost estimate to the
Engineer for approval.
8. Task 8 -Provide Post-Dredging Notifications
Consultant shall provide the necessary post-dredging reports and notifications to
the applicable regulatory agencies, including BCDC and the Corps. These
reports/notifications will be prepared in draft form for review by the City prior to
formal submittal to the pertinent agencies.
9.
